APTEC Succesfully Deploy’s Oracle’s First Production Customer on OAM 11gR2

September 25, 2012- APTEC has successfully deployed Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11gR2 into Production with Oracle’s first customer. The customer, a global investment institution located in North America, is working to migrate its existing legacy Identity and Access Management environment to Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Identity Manager using a multi-phased approach. As a first step in this process, APTEC developed an upgrade blueprint and key artifacts to assist the client in migrating a subset of its mission-critical SSO applications off of the legacy Sun Access Management (“SAM”) infrastructure to Oracle Access Manager 11gR2. These applications were integrated into the OAM platform using a mix of 10g WebGate, ASDK and JBOSS agents. In addition, APTEC also assisted the customer in standing up an Oracle Identity Manager 11gR1 base infrastructure that will eventually replace the customer’s existing Tivoli IBM platform.

The client’s legacy SAM implementation provided active-hot standby functionality; a feature not easily supported by OAM 11gR1. The client upgraded to OAM 11gR2 primarily to take advantage of OAM’s new Multi Data Center (“MDC”) support, which enabled the client to configure an Active-Active configuration between its primary and backup data centers. The scripting effort to automate this process was streamlined and simplified due in great part to the new OAM 11gR2 MDC support.

Please contact us for more details on our active OIM, OAM, OAAM 11gR2 deployments.

APTEC Named in Gartner IAM Consulting and System Integration Vendor and Services Report

APTEC has been officially named in the April 2012 Gartner research report as a globally recognized IAM consulting and system integration vendor.

According to the report, vendors mentioned in the study represent providers most frequently discussed by IAM product vendors and customers alike.

The report, which can be accessed through Gartner’s web site: www.gartner.com, recommends selecting an integration provider that can be a long-term partner for future IAM needs based on previous performance and the delivery of a services roadmap that creates a long-term strategy for the business. The report also recommends choosing a provider that specializes in the IAM product selected by the organization with a proven track record of consensus project management between enterprises and IT participants.

Our success lies in our ability to provide clients with a long-term strategic IAM roadmap for the enterprise. Our initial IAM engagements always create a robust and highly flexible IAM framework for our clients from the onset that can be extended over time with new features, functions, and application integrations.

In addition, APTEC’s long-standing experience and history with the Oracle IAM products aligns with Gartner’s recommendation to choose a partner with proven success working with the specific IAM vendor that’s been selected, in order to guarantee a successful project outcome. We always encourage our clients to speak with previous or current customers who can validate our experience working with the latest version of all the Oracle IAM software offerings.
