In the late 2010s, Dartmouth made the strategic decision to replace their homegrown account management system with Oracle’s identity management solution in order to increase usability and security, decrease operating costs, and deploy a platform able to support future identity management and access control services without disruption.
In September 2011, Dartmouth, in conjunction with their implementation partner, APTEC, successfully completed the first phase of their project by going “live” with Oracle Identity Manager 11g and phasing out their homegrown system. Dartmouth is now poised to start implementing subsequent phases of their transformation project by deploying access control and directory services.
This document covers the first phase of the project and focuses on the deployment of Oracle Identity Management at Dartmouth.
